Kakita Kazumi discovered the bag while investigating the Crane quarters, using a wakizashi's sheath to avoid direct contact with the poison. Examination revealed that the bag's coating matched the symptoms experienced by Shiba Midori, who had suffered from poison exposure. The bag was placed into a thick leather carry bag for safety.
