Matsu Tomoe

Lion

What is known

S5Her grandmother. A Matsu, armoured above and in hakama below, daishō and courtier's fan both, trailing blood and the scent of jasmine. She answers a summons even from a caller who is not Kitsu, and she is angry about neglect: Setsuna has never attended the Hall of Ancestors. Her standing instruction is honour before all else, particularly when it is inconvenient. She says she will walk with the party through Lion ancestral lands and watch Setsuna.
S47Present at the bodies in ghostly armour with a no-dachi, cutting down the assassins' ghosts as they fled — killing them, she says, sends them on the faster. She corrected Midori sharply for calling her a Doji: she married into them and never became one. She accuses the Isawa of a conspiracy to turn the elements against the Lion, and says the shugenja of her clan are working to prove how.

Each line is what she took from the session it cites, and nothing else. The Archivist's own account of this person is not reproduced here — it blends what she saw with what she did not.
