Kitsu Keep

Lion

Kitsu Keep is a castle belonging to the Kitsu Family, located in Lion Clan territory. The castle features a vast library complex, including the Ikoma Hall of Scribes and the Kitsu Archives, reflecting the Lion Clan's commitment to scholarship. Its architecture shows traditional Japanese influences, with the family crests of the Kitsu, Akodo, and Matsu displayed prominently. The region experiences a variable climate and is notable for significant historical events, such as the Battle of Snow Plain.

The keep serves as both a military and administrative center, housing Lady Kitsu Takeko, the daimyo known for her abilities as a fire-aligned Shugenja. The Emerald Magistrates were summoned to Kitsu Keep to address a dispute over diamond mines involving the Scorpion Clan and Unicorn Clan clans, linked to the historical context of the Battle of Snow Plain. Lady Kitsu Takeko granted the magistrates access to the archives for their research, emphasizing the importance of historical records in resolving the conflict. Kitsuko Ayoko, an adopted Kitsu librarian, assisted the magistrates in exploring the archives, which contain personal accounts and records related to the battle. The keep's dual role as a hub for diplomacy and historical scholarship was apparent as discussions about familial connections and historical implications took place.
