Dramatis Persona

Ikoma Ujiaki

Lion

What is known

S49The Lion's strong-arm negotiator and the overkill option the council reached for. Gave nothing away when Midori's appointment was announced.
S50Objected that the Lion took military objectives only and left roads, fields and villages intact, and that the fortresses they hold are in good repair. Then moved to sever the Phoenix question to another venue on the grounds that one delegate may not represent two clans.
S51Came to Setsuna at the tea to ask what standard of proof she required, meaning: dismiss the Unicorn's claim on our word. Took strife rather than be silenced, and withdrew angry. Objected twice to the relevance of the Phoenix question — and by the end of the day had withdrawn the objection.
S52Stung in front of the whole tent yesterday and pleasant as anything today. He came away with her composure, an old adversity, a decoy objective — and with her legal learning turned into a thing he can use against her. In the small talk he found out the one thing she wants for herself, and told her not to undersell herself. He will not concede the Lion did anything improperly until it is proved, but insists they were always concerned for the former wife's well-being and would never have left her destitute. And she got what he wants: to be remembered as one of the Lion's most competent negotiators. He does not want to be a champion. He wants the name. Which is why he keeps raising objections that were Akihito's to raise.

Each line is what she took from the session it cites, and nothing else. The Archivist's own account of this person is not reproduced here — it blends what she saw with what she did not.
