A shrine on the river west of the Empire, near the spring where the water rises and a river goddess holds her court. Bayushi Monban's fox left his Emerald Magistrate's badge there in trade for the healing water that saved his life.
He came back for it and found the river low in its banks, dry ground where water should be, and the trees along it browning months early — half of them still green and half not. The water spirits that were there are gone. The fox, who knew the place before, says the nymphs used to play in it, and that this is not the only water in Rokugan where the spirits have left.
